Cellulaze™
Cellulite can affect women and men of all ages and weights. Even individuals who are in good physical condition can struggle with persistent bumps and bulges on the thighs and buttocks. Cellulaze™ is a revolutionary new cellulite treatment that San Jose, Palo Alto, and other Bay Area residents can choose when they visit Dr. Daryl K. Hoffman. Other methods of cellulite reduction treat the area only superficially and must be repeated often. Cellulaze actually changes the structure of the tissue, so results are long-lasting.
Dr. Hoffman is a Stanford-trained, board-certified plastic surgeon who performs several body contouring procedures, such as Cellulaze, with great results. To learn more request your consultation online or call our office at (650) 325-1118 (Palo Alto) or (408) 371-1118 (Campbell) to schedule your appointment.

The Procedure
The Cellulaze procedure is similar to liposuction in that a thin cannula is inserted under the skin through small incisions. However, the Cellulaze cannula contains a tiny device that uses laser energy to release fibrous bands of connective tissue that pull down on the skin and give it a dimpled appearance. The laser also tightens and smoothes the skin as it liquefies fat cells.1
The area is numbed with a local anesthetic before the procedure, so there is little discomfort. Most sessions last about an hour, but the time varies depending on the size of the area being treated. Patients can also choose Cellfina®, a treatment that takes a similar approach to releasing the fibrous bands of connective tissue using a microblade.

Meet Dr. HoffmanRecovery and Results
After Cellulaze treatments, patients typically can return home immediately; although, your experience may vary. You may have some bruising and achiness initially, but it is usually described as mild. You may be asked to wear a compression garment for a few days to help speed healing and reduce swelling. Recovery time is typically short, so you can resume most normal activities within a couple of days. Strenuous activity should be avoided for 2 weeks.
After about 3 weeks, the results of your Cellulaze treatment will start to become visible, with improvements continuing to develop during the following 3 to 12 months. Patients typically enjoy skin with better tone and fewer surface irregularities. Depressions gradually level out and body contours become sleeker and more attractive. With just a single session, this minimally invasive procedure has been shown to improve skin dimpling for 1 year or more.1
